Today I was looking at “LABOR” (for Labor Day weekend in the U.S.). In Hebrews 4, it seems that the reason our only LABOR is to ENTER His REST is because there is Something else at WORK for us:
“There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
Let us therefore be diligent (“LABOR” in King James Version) to enter that rest,
lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
(AND HERE IS WHY YOU CAN REST!)
“For the Word of God is living and powerful, (THE WORD IS WORKING!)
and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit,
and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”
(Hebrews 4:9-12).
HIS WORD IS WORKING MIGHTILY IN YOU!
The Word of God is at Work, so we don’t have to be!
Our Work is one of resting in the Lord in Faith, believing.
WHY YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD IS VITAL: Your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word is so powerful. In an age where STRESS is rampant in people’s lives, even among believers, you have the *secret weapon* against stress: The Word of the Living God!
I invite you to meditate on this passage over LABOR Day Weekend, and see how we can Labor more diligently to REST IN HIM.
